Abstract:
The maximum evacuation capacity of marine evacuation systems (MES) was assessed and determined in this paper. The capacity of the system has recently risen as a result of MES systems being implemented on large passenger ships. By requiring fewer people to perform the test, this document offered a uniform testing procedure while lowering the danger of injury to testing staff. The capacity calculated using this document was based on trial conditions as outlined in the cited IMO instruments and did not account for elements like bad weather, ship-specific installations or arrangements, or the physical capacities of the passengers who would need to be evacuated.
